Product Description

In addition to service convergence, transmission, and cross-connection, the OptiX OSN 6800 supports 3 Level dynamic traffic diversion (optical cross-connection, ODU cross-connection, and the integrated LAN switch). The product features manageability like SDH/SONET and the large capacity and long distance transmission of WDM systems. With advanced technologies, such as Flexgrid ROADMs, wavelength tunable optical modules, 10G/40G/100G, the Layer 2 Switch, the OptiX OSN 6800 has a flexible architecture and suitable for broadband transport.

Features

1. Transparent access: The OptiX OSN 6800 employs the ITU-T digital wrapper protocol that allows transparent access of various protocols, such as IP/Ethernet, ATM, SONET, FC and ESCON, and services at different bit rates such as 16 Mbit/s, 5 Gbit/s, 10 Gbit/s, 40 Gbit/s, and 100 Gbit/s.

2. With multiprotocol wavelength technology, the OptiX OSN 6800/3800 can transmit services of various types (voice, data, storage, and video), in line with the evolution from TDM to Ethernet/data services.

3. Flexible grooming: the OptiX OSN 6800/3800 supports the innovative three-level traffic grooming infrastructure, which integrates dynamic optical cross-connections (multi-dimensional ROADM), flexible electrical-layer grooming (any ADM), and embedded Layer 2 data processing.

4. Manageability: Apart from operability, manageability, maintainability, and configurability capabilities, the OptiX OSN 6800/3800 has service management functions as well, including bandwidth management, service convergence, and end-to-end detection.

Application and Benefits

According to information released by Ovum, a well-known consulting firm in the telecom industry, by 2014 Huawei led the global optical network market, WDM/OTN market, and 100G/40G market, as well as the backbone WDM market. Huawei WDM/OTN solution has served 39 of the worldwide top 50 carriers.

 Highlights

The OptiX OSN 6800 supports 40 Gbit/s and 100 Gbit/s line rates and a 360G bit/s cross-connect capacity. It features power saving, and high reliability and maintainability.

Highest Cross-Connect Capacity with Flexible Large-Capacity Service Grooming

  • Features high cross-connect capacity. A single subrack supports a maximum of 360G bit/s cross-connect capacity, implementing large-capacity service grooming. Only one subrack is required for the large-capacity service grooming and therefore lowers power consumption and reduces the floor space.
  • Supports multi-granularity OTN cross-connection, that is, ODUk cross-connection, where k can be 1, 2, or 2e..

Huge Bandwidth Provisioning with Flexible High-Density Architecture

  • Supports hybrid transmission of 10 Gbit/s, 40 Gbit/s, and 100 Gbit/s signals, and supports a smooth upgrade from a low-rate network to a high-rate network.
  • Supports ePDM-QPSK modulation for 100 Gbit/s signals, requiring no dispersion compensation modules (DCMs) and simplifying network configurations. The advanced return to zero (RZ), forward error correction (FEC), and digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms implement ultra long-haul transmission of 100 Gbit/s signals, which increases the optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) tolerance and transmission distance.
  • Satisfies requirements on large-bandwidth transmission using 40 Gbit/s and 100 Gbit/s line rates. Provides the highest integration in the industry and supports 100 Gbit/s capacity.

Tier 1 Reliability and Mass Data Transmission with Optimal Architecture

  • Provides multiple network-level protection schemes and intelligent network management based on automatically switched optical network (ASON)/generalized multiprotocol label switching (GMPLS) technologies to protect all fibers and services.
  • Provides protection for power supply devices, fans, communication control boards, and the cross-connection resource pool.
